So today we went to the academy of science. It was really fun! They had an imitation rain forest and all the animals were loose. It was super warm in there! Hot and sticky. There was also a under water section! At the end we went to a show about the beginning of life. It was in a big dome. The screen was the entire celing it wrapped all the way around! After that we left and went to each some lunch. Around the places we ate there was some cute shops. Than we ended up going back up to the green apple book store. After we were finished there we decided to go to the pier. Everyone went and did last minute shopping at the torist shops and we found a place to eat dinner. The dinner place had the coolest bathroom! You walk in and there is no door. The first thing is the big sink than there are five doors. Each door is its individual toilet and all themed a different color. And all the bathrooms were boy and girl so it didn't matter! I thought it was so cool!! After dinner we just hiked back to the hostel to pack up and get ready to leave tomorrow!!

Well..... Hello everybody....... its me Lauren..... um..... anyway here is todays great events some of it was really strange... thanks to Kaitlyn we are going to be forever stuck with some insanely wonderful memories..... we all love you Kait!!!
So today we started off with actually sleeping in!! can you believe it!!! we were all definitely way more up and ready to go. The weather has been so amazing!! Bright sunshine is always just a great way to start the day. So once we were awake and filled up with breakfast we took off to go to the Haight for some shopping and hanging around in a really cool cafe where i had a really great egg and bagel sandwich. Then we got to visit the Urban School. and let me just tell you THAT SCHOOL IS AMAZING!!!! Its like how Walden will be in few more years (if we get the proper funding.) They had this amazing Jazz concert that a bunch of the students put on they were so amazingly talented! Once we were done with that we went to the Mission Street and explored a Really interesting thrift store then had to go wait for the bus we had a few problems with the fact that we had to wait for about a half hour because the bus that we thought we were going to get on was the wrong one! fun right?!?!?! While we were waiting for the bus Riley Started to have a panic attack because we were in a really shady part of town.... But its okay everything turned out really good :) Once we were off the bus at Ghirardelli Square Karl's Grandma was amazing and bought us all EXTREMELY WONDERFUL ICE CREME!!!!! Thanks Karl's Grandma you are one wonderful woman :) After ice creme we split up into two groups. Riley, Carol Ann, Savannah, Kaitlyn, Erika, and Casey took off and went to H&M and then the rest of us ( Lauren, Amy Jo, Gradey, and Josh) went back to the hostel for some relaxation and down time before dinner. After about an hour or so we went to Long Beach for some Italian food. Then after dinner we walked a block of so to the bus stop where Kaitly had a REALLY EXTREMELY ODD conversation with some dude who thinks he is a thug and a gangster.... yes he was drunk and yeah it was really funny... but dont worry he was harmless ;) So now were back at the Hostel having our story time with Gradey before heading to bed and getting some sleep for a long last day tomorrow here in wonderful San Francisco.
(Carol Ann note: sorry for not many photos; photos take like 5 minutes to load; we'll compile a cd with all the photos!!)

Day 3- Wednesday, May 25, 2010
Well hello there, fellow friends! It's Kaitlyn, and I'm going to explain our day, WITH using grammar and punctuation. As best I know, that is.
Our fabulous day started out today bright and early at 7 AM. We woke up and got some yummy breakfast, and hurried so fast, so that we weren't even late for our Alcatraz visit at nine! We had so much fun with our Audio tour at Alcatraz, we learned so many fascinating things about the cell mates at Alcatraz, as well as the history behind it all. I'd say we learned quite a bit, or potentially useless information, but still interesting. Alcatraz was a pretty awesome place.
After Alcatraz we split up into two groups, and grabbed some lunch at whatever place we randomly saw. Lauren, Amy Jo, Karl, and Carol Ann went to Coi Tower (I think that is how you spell it?) - - Everyone else, including Gradey, Savannah, Casey, Josh, Erica, Riley, and I went to the Aquarium. The Aquarium was super fun! I loved it. And it was my first Aquarium ever! Good luck Utah, that is a lot to live up to!! Also, from what I herd, the Tower was super fun too! They all came back wet from the rain, and satisfied with the Tower!! There were happy smiles on everyone's faces.
We met up at the Sea Lions, and got to watch those. They were the absolute cutest! Man did they have personalities. After the Sea Lions, we went to the Trolly. We rode the Trolly to Lumbard street- - THE CROOKEDEST STREET! Yes, yes we did race down the street, and "chased the cars" down the street. Yes, we all ended up falling or tripping at some point. At least I did. Here is the photo for that wonderful event:
After Lombard street, we went to the Exploretorium. So many cool things, I can't even NAME them one by one. But I must say, we had fun blowing bubbles, and making fun of them as they were closing. By this time, when we left, it was exactly "FIVE O'CLOCK! EXPLORETORIUM IS CLOSING! FIVE O'CLOCK!" as the employee's said.
Exploring was nice, but afterwords we took a trip on the 28 buss to the Golden Gate bridge. So much fun! We got to walk on the Golden Gate bridge, witch Karl informed us is the number one place that people commit suicide in the world! (OMG!)
Afterwords, we went to the Green Apple Bookstore. Witch, I'm not much of a reader, but that was very nice as well. It was a nice little bookstore. We then took buss number 1 over to Karl's aunts house. We got to meet Auntie Jody. She was so nice! I definitely was impressed with her yummy food. And I guess her personality is nice too. ;) JUST KIDDING. She is a wonderful lady. I sure loved conversing with her, and her husband too! They're wonderful.
We then took a buss back to the Hostel. We had such an angry buss driver, so we quickly got off. (Terrifying.) Then we waited for buss 28 for about 28 minutes. In witch time we free walked. Yes, free walked. Nope, it costed nothing. Because it was free.
Now we're going to bed ready and stoked for tomorrow! God bless, and hooray we get to sleep in. Somewhat.
Good night everybody!!

TUESDAY!!
Hey, It's me, Karl.
I am going to explain today in one really long run on sentence.
So today we woke up but we were kind of late but then we got to the soup kitchen and service project and then we worked a whole bunch and Grady and Carrol Anne didn't have closed shoes so they colored with crayons and made birthday cards while we did hard work and unpacked a whole bunch of stuff like eggs and yogurt and potatoes and oranges and did a whole bunch of cool jobs and SFMoA it was cool and there was a lot of crazy art and then we went to Union square and then we went to H&M and then we went to a store where I got a weird jacket and then we went to China town and we got some Chinese Steamed Buns (Nai Huang Eao, Hong Dou) and then we saw a real BANKSY piece and then we went to City Lights Books and then we went to dinner at a Thai place and then we met Carol Anne's friend Clay and we went to clay street and then we got donuts at Bob's we went to the bus stop because we took the bus a lot and it was fun the end.
It was pretty fun, tomorrow is going to be really cool too.

Down by the bay well here we are
Hey Parents! We arrived safely into the Oakland airport, took AirBart, normal Bart, the 8X, and then the 30, and made it to our hostel in beautiful Fort Mason. It's on the bay, and we have views of the bay and the city. We got our fill of Fisherman's Wharf, where we ate dinner, tried on sunglasses, and stopped at lots of touristy shops. A few ate at Boudin, getting a nice sammy or a bread bowl o' soup. Walking back, we walked along the bay, and my favorite quote of the day was from Kaitlyn, who said, "It touched me!" (it being the bay). The weather is divine. A bit cold when the sun goes down, but a nice breeze and we had sunshine. So many good things. And Grady's iPhone wins for it's google map skills.
